waiting for the next one
The book is billed as "Martin meets Lovecraft," and it certainly delivers on that. The book is a whirlwind adventure following several distinct groups as they venture through a land with fading gods and the resurgence of a Lovecraftian threat that summons Dark Young to kill and maim the mortals in this world.
It is a great, pot boiling fantasy novel with elements of intrigue and horror in equal measures.

The Red Prince is a nobleman who is going to stop the depredations of the Enchantresses (originally seven sisters) who serve the Dark Lord, the Lovecraftian entity. While we follow the exploits of Alexander Tiris (the Red Prince), his plucky wife, and monk confessor (yes, there is more than a passing resemblance between the Red Prince and Robin Hood), we also follow the adventures of Ryuthulu (the last of the Spiders of Leng, er, ... I meant Gorlan Mother), the Last Old Blood, and a host of others.
As the story progresses, we see the heroes from the previous book whittled away, but the Enchantresses lose forces too, and there are only two Enchantresses left by the end of the book.
As a parent, this is a mature read and includes some explicit violence, course language, enchantment/possession, and other physical acts.
It is a great fantasy series for the mature reader.
I really enjoyed this book. I can't wait for the next one to come out as a physical copy!
Finish the story already. This book didn't answer many questions of the series, but only introduced more mysteries. It is time to finish it.
Have enjoyed the two and three quarter books in this series (still reading this one). Although the plot is familiar, the characters are interesting and it's always the sign of a good read when you don't want it to finish!
I was so surprised to find this series. Keeps getting better and can't wait for the next installment.
